When To DIY – And When to DI-Don’t: Plumbing Edition

Now, there are plenty of things you can do yourself and we all like to save some money here and there. But there are also many fixes best left to the professionals. If you tackle a problem too big, you may end up with a bigger issue – and a bigger bill.

Five Common Plumbing Issues

DO

The easiest problems to tackle yourself include fixing a leaky faucet, unclogging a toilet or drain, or upgrading your faucet or shower.

These problems just require a toolbox, a trip to the hardware store and maybe a youtube video or two. If the problems still persist after making an initial attempt, call our friendly and local experts to come take a look. No problem is too big or small to make sure your plumbing flows clearly.

DON’T

It’s best to call us when you have bigger projects, like replacing your toilet, patching or replacing a broken pipe, or installing a water heater. These are extremely complicated actions that require specialized knowledge and, occasionally, specialized. Taking these on yourself could lead to danger for yourself, your family, and your house.

The bigger the problem, the bigger the fix and many of these problems may end with a flood. Save yourself the headache and give us a ring at (808) 691-9309 to get in touch with EPS Hawaii’s Oahu branch, or, if you live on the Big Island, call (808) 400-8811.
